The Exoneration Initiative (EXI) is a non-profit legal organization which works to free and exonerate wrongfully convicted people in New York state whose cases lack DNA evidence. Most of these forgotten people are persons of color who have been caught up in our broken criminal justice system, and left without the resources to fight for their lives. EXI works to gives these people a voice, freedom, vindication, and a chance at rebuilding a life for themselves and their families.
